Blue and white in any form; Chinese porcelain, french toile, delftware, sapphires, Iznik tiles, the Carribean sea, our favorite color combination – the scheme that always pleases!
It never ceases to amaze seeing a new interpretation on our old favorite or simply appreciating the iconic rooms that have paved the way.
This brings us to the FIFTH CHALLENGE!

PRIZE will be a one of a kind flower of the month from the Charlotte Moss and Tommy Mitchell collection. Part of a special collaboration between Charlotte and Tommy, these flowers of the month are birth flowers that come in blue and white cachepots – from the sublime sweet pea to the everlasting honeysuckle, every month is created in wonderful detail and is one of a kind.
Here are some of our favorite rooms that have paved the way:
Chateau de Mouton, Library
Château Mouton, the wine estate of the Rothschild’s is located in the village of Pauillac in the Médoc region north-west of France. The famous library conceived by Pauline de Rothschild is blue velvet and only blue velvet.
Louise de Vilmorin
In her Living Room at Chateau de Vilmorin (Verrières-le-buisson) with a fabric produced now by Brunschwig & Fils, “Verrieres.”
Villa La Fiorentina in Cap d’Antibes for Mrs. and Mrs. Harding Lawrence
“Clear, fresh blue covers the upholstered sofas and chairs, a deeper blue checkerboards with white on the French woven rugs, and every blue imaginable mingles in the Indian hankerchief pillows. All over the room are masses of blue and white Chinese porcelains. The big lacquered coffee table was designed, as was much of the furniture spotted here and there, by Charles Sevigny.” – Billy Baldwin
